"Without an education, we are in a horrible and deadly danger of taking educated people seriously."-G.K. Chesterton

My Teaching Philosophy My teaching philosophy places my students at the center of everything I do. Many ancient philosophers discussed the question of what the point of an education is, and many of them came to the conclusion that the point of an education is to fulfill one's human nature. I agree whole-heartedly. The reason my students are in my room may be because they are required legally to be there, but I believe school can be much more than a government-mandated babysitting program. I plan to teach students in the upper grades of high school, hopefully students in twelfth grade. Students of this age might be young, but they are capable of very adult thought and I plan to treat them as such.
